Chief Well-Being Officer for Emory Healthcare

Evan Thoman, MS, PMP, CWP serves as the Chief Well-Being Officer for Emory Healthcare. With more than 15 years of experience in well-being leadership across healthcare, federal government, and nonprofit sectors, Evan has developed and implemented employee well-being programs that strengthen workplace culture, promote resilience, and drive organizational performance - achievements that have earned national recognition. Evan leads the strategic direction and implementation of the WHSC Office of Well-Being (EmWELL), driving employee engagement, support, and operational efficiency across the organization.

Evan also serves as a Co-Chair for the American Nurses Association's Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation Initiative. In this role, he helps lead national efforts to improve the health and well-being of nurses by promoting healthy habits, supporting mental health initiatives, and developing resources that empower nurses to prioritize self-care while delivering exceptional patient care. The initiative focuses on five domains of well-being - physical activity, nutrition, rest, quality of life, and safety - helping nurses across the country address the unique challenges they face in high-stress environments.

Evan received a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a master's degree in organizational training and development from Marshall University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP). Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in healthcare leadership from Liberty University.
